Island Brač Tour
Explore Vidova Gora peak, discover secrets of Blaca monastery and enjoy local art and food!
After we meet and enjoy one hour ferry ride from Split to Supetar on Island Brač we'll have shuttle to the highest peak of all Adriatic islands – Vidova gora (778m). From this point you'll be able to enjoy beautiful view on surrounding islands and even Italy in distance, when the sky is crystal clear.
After enjoying scenery on Vidova gora, next destination is Blaca monastery (half an hour walk one way).
Way back in the early part of the 16th century two Glagolitic monks fled the Turks and found shelter in Bol, and were offered the cave as protection. After receiving the certificate of ownership the founding Monks established the monastery of Blaca and built a church surrounding the cave.
The monastery was in use for over 400 years, and the area surrounding the cave was cultivated by the monks and workers during that time. Forming not only an intense spiritual place, but also using the hermitage as a farm, school and for many years a private astronomical observatory.
Finishing the visit to Blaca, we are heading to Donji Humac village where we will visit a family owned art gallery.
This unique family, consists of 3 academically educated artists, who display their work in gallery. It is located in the courtyard of the family house in Donji Humac on the island Brac. In gallery there are unique jewelry in semi-precious stones and silver, stone sculptures and paintings.
On our way out of the gallery, we'll have a lunch and taste some of local cuisine in nearby restaurant Kopačina!
